A BSSM team partnered with YWAM to minister to the homeless in the Tenderloin area of San Francisco. One day, they brought two sack lunches each, one for themselves, one to share with a homeless person. One of the students had a profound encounter with a homeless man. Her heart was moved with compassion. After they had talked for a while, she wanted to give him a hug, but he wasn’t comfortable with that. He said his father would be affectionate with him and then flip and be abusive, so it had been 30 years since he had received a hug. She said, “You have a heavenly Father that never changes.” Then he let her hug him.
